I recently archived several old photos on my Instagram account (for many reasons including privacy purposes and just needing somewhat of a fresh start), and as I was scrolling through those captured moments I couldn't help but get emotional when I saw how much I have progressed in my photography journey over the years. Pictures that I once thought were my best work now pale in comparison to new images. While social media has its issues, I owe so much to it for leading me to my favorite hobby, and helping me develop my talent. There is something so vulnerable about sharing your work online, and that vulnerability has helped me grow in ways I couldn't have otherwise. I heard a quote once that said something along the lines of "you are scared of starting something new because you know you'll be bad at it in the beginning", this is just a reminder that you cannot be good at something you have never been bad at. So, please, take the time to be bad at something, your future self will thank you!
